Who We Are
Built on Lived Experience. Driven by Purpose. Rooted in Community.
Thrive2G is more than an organisation — it is a movement of passionate advocates, trained professionals, and everyday people committed to making mental health support accessible, culturally relevant, and stigma-free for everyone.
How Thrive2G Began
Who We Are
Thrive2G was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the lived realities of children who were misunderstood, families who were overwhelmed, and communities that had no language for what they were experiencing.
Founded by Lucy Maira — a SEND advocate and neurodiversity trainer with over a decade of frontline experience across the UK and Kenya — Thrive2G grew out of a deep frustration and an even deeper conviction. A frustration that so many vulnerable children were falling through the cracks of systems that did not understand them. And a conviction that with the right knowledge, the right language, and the right community, things could be different. What began as grassroots training sessions for educators in alternative provision settings quietly grew into something far bigger. Schools reached out. Parents asked for support. Community organisations in Kenya and Uganda requested partnerships. And a movement began to take shape. Today, Thrive2G operates across five countries, delivers training to educators, caregivers and professionals, runs awareness campaigns with major organisations, and offers one-to-one mental health support to individuals who need it most. The work continues to grow — because the need continues to be great.

Rooted in Community. Grounded in Evidence. Driven by Heart.
Our Purpose : Equipping Communities Today to Build a More Compassionate World Tomorrow.
Mission
Every child deserves to thrive. We equip educators, parents, and community leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to support neurodivergent and emotionally vulnerable children — ensuring no child is left behind.
Vision
To create inclusive, informed, and compassionate communities through high-impact training and advocacy — across continents, cultures, and classrooms.
What We Stand For
Everything we do at Thrive2G is shaped by six core values. They guide how we train, how we support, how we advocate, and how we show up for our community every single day.
Compassion
We lead with empathy in every interaction whether we are in a training room, a counselling session, or a community gathering. We believe that compassion is not weakness. It is the most powerful tool we have.
Inclusion
Every voice belongs. Every story matters. We are intentional about creating spaces where neurodivergent individuals, marginalised communities, and those from diverse cultural backgrounds feel genuinely seen and valued not as an afterthought, but as the centre of everything we do.
Openness
We break stigma by speaking honestly and courageously. We refuse to let shame silence conversations that could save lives. At Thrive2G, there is no such thing as a topic too difficult to address with care and honesty.
Resilience
We believe deeply in the capacity of every person to heal, grow, and rebuild no matter how painful or prolonged their struggle has been. We are not in the business of pity. We are in the business of possibility.
Community
Healing is not a solo journey. We exist to ensure that no one has to figure this out alone. Whether through peer support, training networks, or online community spaces we build connection at every opportunity.
Advocacy
We speak up, show up, and stand firmly with the vulnerable. We raise our voices in schools, policy spaces, and public conversations because we know that individual support and systemic change must go hand in hand.
The People Behind the Movement
Our team is made up of trained professionals, passionate advocates, and peer mentors — many of whom have personal experience of the challenges they now help others navigate. We bring together clinical knowledge, cultural insight, and lived experience because we believe all three are essential.
